Is your hair thinning or have a receding hairline? Have you recently been diagnosed with Alopecia Areata (bald patches) or Androgenic Alopecia (patterned baldness)? Or do you suffer from genetic or stress hair loss but experience negative side effects from medication and would rather a safe and non-surgical solution? Congratulations, you have come to the right place to begin your journey to transform your hair (and self-esteem)!
Nurse Nyma has done the research and is passionate about results, so you don't need to worry. It took eighteen months of research to find the best hair regrowth system for her clients. Thanks to her quest for quality, Nurse Nyma is one of the very first clinician's in Australia to stock the world's leading and most scientifically studied Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) system from T-Lab!
There are many reasons why hair can start falling out, whether it be hormones, genetics or a side-effect from medicine like chemotherapy treatment (Alopecia Anagen Effluvium). Whatever the cause, hair loss can have a negative impact on self-esteem and social life. Nurse Nyma will work with you and your general practitioner or dermatologist to safely deliver hair regrowth treatment.

For many years now PRP has been successfully used by doctors and surgeons to accelerate the healing process of musculoskeletal injuries such as torn ligaments, tendons, muscles and joints. Thanks to PRP's dense platelet concentration containing amazing regenerative properties, PRP is successfully being used for hair loss and skin health.

Is this safe for someone diagnosed with Alopecia?
PRP and micro-needling with LED is a recommended hair loss treatment by the Australian Alopecia Areata Foundation. All treatments at Nurse Nyma Aesthetics include medical oversight and a scripting doctor will be consulted prior to administering treatment. Individuals diagnosed with generalised alopecia areata (hair thinning/loss) including monolocularis/reticular (spots and reticular patches) and barbae (bald patches on beard) are ideal candidates for this treatment. For more advanced Alopecia, such as Areata Totalis (complete hair loss), it is recommended to have medical clearance by your treating medical practitioner prior to commencing treatment due to autoimmune unpredictability.
Receiving a formal diagnosis of alopecia can be a difficult experience to cope with emotionally. If you have recently been diagnosed with Alopecia and you would like more information including how to connect with support groups, please visit the AAAF Website.

What is involved?
At the appointment, a thorough consultation will take place to ensure this treatment is right for you. Once the safety profile is assessed, a video call will take place with one of our medical doctors for a script to collect .blood products. Numbing cream will be applied to the scalp for 30 minutes. Blood will be collected into the platelet tubes (yes we have butterfly needles!) and spun in the German made state-of-the-art 90 degree horizontal swing out centrifuge. All of our collection tubes are ARTG registered, free from separator gel, harmful plastics and other chemicals that interfere with quality platelet collection. The numbing cream is removed, very superficial skin needling occurs on the scalp, followed by PRP or PRF meso injections and finished with LED.
Nurse Nyma specifically designed this treatment to offer a three tiered approach to maximise hair growth stimulation. Treatment duration is approximately 90 minutes and you can return to work the next day. A minimum of three treatments is always recommended to initiate the hair growth cycle, followed by a fourth treatment and evaluation at six months. The evaluation (fourth) treatment will determine the individual treatment plan for subsequent follow up intervals to maintain the growth phase. Generally, a yearly or six monthly boost is recommended - however everyone is different! Results usually show from the third month onwards and generally peak at four - six months.

Is it painful?
Pain is different for everyone and micro injections of baby needles at a depth of 1.5mm into the scalp can come with some discomfort. To mitigate this, the strongest medical anaesthetic is used during this treatment, along with a TGA approved nerve blocking device to block nerve pain by up to 50%. If you have a low pain threshold and are still concerned, there are stronger pain management alternatives available which can be discussed during a consultation.
